The Shaman of Griffith Park


John Smith is an unassuming man. He is also one of the youngest Thyrsus mages in Los Angeles. Taking his shadowname from the famed 15th century European explorer, he is also a mage who like his namesake, adopted the attitudes and traditions of the Native American peoples. A member of the Mysterium, John prefers the quiet places of LA (which are not many). Having befriended the local spirits of Griffith Park, John has established himself solidly in the region's supernatural community. He has also made a name for himself among the local werewolf packs, who recognize a man possessing spiritual rank.

John's mystical nimbus manifests as an unveiling of the animistic world. When casting powerful magics, those near John briefly experience (or imagine they experience) the same animalist world the Shaman sees. Sleepers sense waves of emotions coming from objects or natural phenomena--eagerness from a sports car, stability from a chair, anger from fire and so on.

John has become a solid ally of the Griffith Park Alphas and Three Sisters packs.  While he avoids the politics and machiavellan scheming of the Los Angeles Consilium, he possesses a solid reputation and status among the Order of the Mysterium.
